I used the following music equipments to record my songs:
M-audio fast track pro (mixer),
AT4040 microphone,
CE(cool edit) software,
computer.
download the accompanying music from wo99.com and make mp3,
copy and paste it to CE.
record and make mp3 of your song from CE

AT4040 better than Shure? I heard Shure is better.

let's find out which one is better if u compare with price and frequency response:
shure:
price=$299
frequency response: 20-20,000

So they are about the same in terms of price and frequency response. I was told that ATAT is good for soprano singers, so I bot AT4040.
